Take Advantage of Your Child's Best Opportunity to Learn

The best time to start thinking about your child's musical development is at birth. In fact, the most critical time in a child's musical development is from birth to age five. Scientific research has shown that parts of the brain that are not stimulated in the earliest years of life will lose their full potential. This "use it or lose it" concept applies to your child's music aptitude. Don't miss your child's best opportunity to learn.

"Researchers have documented that exposure to music in early childhood has a positive effect on the brain and that the earlier you start, the better." -CNN

Music Pups is a music education curriculum developed to unleash the musical potential of young children through fun music and movement classes with a parent or caregiver. Designed to nurture the musical development of young children, Music Pups features award winning music, engaging activities, CDs, and caring, professional instructors, we are proud of the high standards we set in the field of early childhood music education. Through teacher modeling, play, parent education, our acclaimed CDs, and the joy of our classes, Music Pups helps you create a stimulating musical environment for your child.

"If I had ever needed evidence that music is one of the basic human pleasures,
this class provided it in spades." -MSN.com

Children are exposed to a wide variety of styles designed to expand their music vocabulary. Each 10 week session presents a new collection of music. An assortment of rhythm instruments, balls, and scarves are used to engage even the youngest of children in rhythmic and melodic participation. Suggestions are routinely taken from the children (or their parents) for substitutions of words or actions that will personalize the songs. In this way, the creative process is fostered. Just as the brains of babies are literally being wired to discern and compute the sounds of the verbal language around them, so the brains of babies can be wired for the melodic and rhythmic sounds of music. The greater the palette of sounds children are exposed to, the greater their music vocabulary will be that upon which they can build as they grow.

Each class is 45 minutes long. Families receive a CD and songbook with a broad variety of sounds and activities designed to stimulate musical learning. Oour recordings and songbooks help your child continue to develop her musical abilities at home. Our parent education pages, along with teacher guidance, help you to understand how your child learns music and what we can do to enhance the process. Our library of 11 CDs allows your family to enjoy class for almost three years with all new music each session. Mixed age classes are developmentally appropriate and allow siblings to enjoy class together.

"My three year old looks forward to every class. I can see the difference The Music Class makes." -CBS News
