5:00 - Video game theme recital
7:00 - Movie theme recital
These themed recitals are being held at the Piano Key.
For many students, the recital is the highlight of the year. After a student has worked hard all year, it is a feeling of personal accomplishment to perform on stage before family and friends. This special stage experience also helps with the development of confidence, poise, and personality.
The Mary K. Hail Music Mansion
When Mary Kimball Hail died in 1948, she left her home at 88 Meeting Street in Providence -- now called the Mary K. Hail Music Mansion -- to the community for free, public concerts. The Music Mansion's namesake, Mary K. Hail, was, according to her June 25, 1948 Providence Journal obituary, a “prominent patroness of music in Rhode Island for many years…For nearly 20 years, Mrs. Hail's name has been linked with the Music Mansion, her home at Meeting and Congdon Streets, where one large wing was designed as a music hall for 200 people.” The Music Mansion, designed by architect Albert Harkness, has been described as “a modernized version of an English manor house of the 17th or 18th century.”
